Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Movie of the MiddleAges Comment: This is a really cool video! It's great to see Hercules & Xena work together to fight the titans on Mount Olympus. I gave it all five ratings.
Customer Rating: Summary: Come on you hipocrits. Comment: Ok, so all of adults out there that have seen this think it was awaful. Yet you continue to all give raving revues and express your need to see the latest "let me shot some guy until he's dead" or some retarded foreign film that no one can understand and you PROTECT those films because they HAVE to be good because they're meant for adults.
we'll you all are idiots.
Just because it wasn't what you were used to doesn't make it bad.
So the animation may have sucked? It was 1998. what do you want?
the original star wars effects sucked but everyone LOVED that regardless.
Anyway, this movie provides and interesting spin on the typical hercules movie, which disney completely disneyfied, btw.
It's plot may be predictable but so what, almost all movies today are.
They stuck to the actuall mythological side of the tale better than anyone else:
~Hera hated hercules, and tried to kill him.
~Zeus was a pig, and "played with mortal" women
~they actually used the Titans as charaters
So this may not meet your standards of a good movie, but what does anyone know about movies anyway?
If it makes you laugh and you don't feel the intense urge to flee the room, then it's a good movie, regardless of what the "standards" are.
So you all need to just wake up and decide for yourself. If you like the movie, then it's because YOU actually had an opinion for once(shocker)and it shouldn't matter what THEY think about it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ok,but not great! Comment: I was really looking forward to this movie a lot,but when I saw it,all I could think of was,"What a disappointment"! The storyline and voice work were excellent-I had no problem with that. My problem was with the animation. If anyone has read the Xena/Hercules comics, then I think you would agree that if the artistry of those comics had been used in this movie, the results would have been far better than what we got! I would not recommend this unless you are a die hard HTLJ or XWP fan.
Customer Rating: Summary: Words cannot express. . . Comment: But I will try to explain the movie's effect on me. This was perhaps the worst piece of animation I have ever seen in my life. If Universal had any sort of pride (or sense), they would have at least viewed this mess and done something to fix it. I was totally disappointed in this. I wanted more Xena (and more Kevin Smith as Ares, RIP), and this was the only thing I hadn't seen, and it just made me cry.
However, it was an excellent laugh. I was giggling throughout the film from the entire absurdity of the plot and dialogue. The animation could only be weeped at (why did Xena's hair have red highlights, why was Hercules' shirt so messed up, why did all the normally attractive actors who play the roles look so horrible animated?), but the songs were so bad and the story so silly I couldn't help it.
So, if you are dying for something else Xena/Hercules (anything!), then do take this movie out of the library. It is a fun laugh with the voices of the actors on the two shows. But I wouldn't buy it unless I was a collector of the series' stuff.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great movie but animation BLOWS! Comment: this would have been a great movie if it was real and not animated. the animation was so crappy it ruined the movie, otherwise i give it a 3 out of 5.
