Customer Rating: Summary: Jessie Stone-Paradise sheriff Comment: I am a strong fan of Tom Selleck. He is a very good actor as far as I am concerened but this role is not all that well played. He seems to be too much of a drinker for me. I do however like that he stands on what he beleives is right.Selleck has done a bang up job on his westerns and I would hope he could do better on these movies that have so little action.
Customer Rating: Summary: 1940's STYLE FILM NOIR SET IN MODERN DAY Comment: "Stone Cold" is based upon the best selling novel by Robert B. Parker. Tom Seleck plays Jesse Stone, a former L.A. Detective who has left L.A. and an ex-wife to become the Chief of Police for the fishing town of Paradise, Massachusetts. As murders take place, he must come to grips with his two favorite things - scotch and women.
"Stone Cold" was originally produced for CBS television and is one of four Jesse Stone movies available on DVD today. Although "Stone Cold" was the first of the movies, it's actually the second in the series. A prequel titled "Night Passage" was filed secondly however I recommend viewing it first. The third movie is titled "Death in Paradise" and the forth is "Sea Change". A fifth "Thin Ice" should be released soon.
I highly recommend this series of movies. Without a doubt, this is Tom Seleck as his best!
Customer Rating: Summary: Stone Cold is Hot! Comment: Stone Cold
Very good made for TV film, three others have been made as well based on this series. Selleck is excellent as Police Chief Jesse Stone. Terrific supporting cast esp. Viola Davis as the hard to impress deputy/dispatcher.
Fans of Magnum may be surprised to see the Jesse Stone character is quite different, much darker, more flawed. Selleck plays this role with gritty realism. Definitely a don't miss for Selleck fans or lovers of the murder mystery genre.
Customer Rating: Summary: Tom Selleck in Stone Cold Comment: I keep waiting for more Jesse Stone movies to come out. Tom Selleck is great and the writing/story line is well worth the wait.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great movie. Comment: I found this movie entertaining retaining some of the qualuties of the
older movies that you had to be an actor not just lay in bed most of the
movie and show you everything like pervert movies are now.
Only wrecked one car instead of 20 police cars and passenger as they do now.
No burning wrecks every 10 minutes.

Tom Selleck is Jesse Stone, a former L.A. homicide detective who left behind the big city and an ex-wife to become the police chief of the quiet New England fishing town of Paradise, Massachusetts. Stone's old habits die hard as he continues to indulge in his two favorite things - scotch and women. When a series of murders take place, and a high school girl is raped, he's forced to face his own demons in order to solve the crimes.
