Customer Rating: Summary: The Swash Never Buckles Comment: This film as a stand alone is fine, but one needs to see (and own) the trilogy to really 'get it'. The pirates trilogy is wonderful fun. Part cliffhanger serial, part pastiche, it works on every level. To not see it complete is sad, to not own all three is a tradgedy. Great work by everyone from cast to techs to director. See it, get it, enjoy it, now...
Customer Rating: Summary: Not The Best Comment: All of these Pirates of the Caribean movies are gross. The first film shows not only pirates but ugly rotton skeletal figures representing pirates. The captain of one ship drinks some rum and the liquid just drips through his skeleton.
All of the films are too long also. The second film shows Captain Jack Sparrow holding a thumping human heart. The first one and all of them have some language in them. The violence isn't graphic but it has a little humor in it. There's some humor in the films but the stories aren't too enjoyable. Some violence is way too long. I don't like the movies.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fun and Fantastic Comment: FILM REVIEW (DVD review below):
Who says a theme park ride can't be a good movie? Tell that to Disney because their ride "Pirates of the Caribbean" has spawned one of the best film franchises ever and it all started here. "The Curse of the Black Pearl" was a hit in 2003 and to this day, I watch it all the time. It's fun, funny, action packed, and enthralling and never leaves you bored. It's an instant classic.
Pros:
*Outstanding performances from Depp, Rush, Knightley, and Bloom
*Action packed and funny
*It feels like the ride
*Great and engaging story
*Wonderful music
*A movie you can watch over and over again
Cons:
*I have none!
My rating: 5/5
DVD REVIEW:
Okay, this was released back in the day when the 2nd disc had hours and hours of bonus material. I miss those days. The 1st disc features the main movie. The 2nd disc features everything you could ever want. The "Epic At Sea" feature gives you everything you could ever want to know about the making of the movie. There's plenty of insight on the set, and behind the scenes with some of the actors and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. There's so much here, there's nothing left unwanted for the hardcore DVD fan. In conclusion, a must have for movie lovers.
My Rating: 5/5
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Product Comment: Amazing price for blu-ray. Fast delivery! Great movie, and on blu-ray is awesome!
Customer Rating: Summary: Why is the rum gone!? Comment: I love this movie, I saw it for the first time shortly before the sequel, and man do I regret not seeing it in theaters! See it, and the sequels!

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer (PEARL HARBOR) comes PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL, the thrilling high-seas adventure with a mysterious twist. The roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow's (Academy Award(R) Nominee Johnny Depp) idyllic pirate life capsizes after his nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), steals his ship, the Black Pearl, and later attacks the town of Port Royal, kidnapping the governor's beautiful daughter Elizabeth (Keira Knightley). In a gallant attempt to rescue her and recapture the Black Pearl, Elizabeth's childhood friend Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) joins forces with Jack. What Will doesn't know is that a cursed treasure has doomed Barbossa and his crew to live forever as the undead. Rich in suspense-filled adventure, sword-clashing action, mystery, humor, unforgettable characters, and never-before-seen special effects, PIRATES is a must-have epic on the grandest scale ever.
