Customer Rating: Summary: NO WIRES - NO FAKING IT - ONE OF HIS BEST Comment: This is one of the best JC movies in history. Some, such as Brett Ratner who in on the DVD bonus footage, say if you only see one JC movie, this is the one to see. It may well be his best, but I enjoyed so many of his earlier movies it's hard to pick a favorite. I might pick Armour of God as the best ever (marketed as Operation Condor 2 in the US). Not much to add that hasn't been said by everyone else. I would say that you must understand this movie was made in Cantonese (so you can expect bad dubbing) and a handful of jokes may seem inappropriate to US audiences. But it's a great, raw, movie with real stunts that put JC's neck on the line. Of course he was injured in this movie, but he almost died filming Armour of God if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, I'm still a fan of JC, though I wish he had not become commercialized In the US. After the Rush Hour movies he did something I wish he never would have done. He did movies using WIRES!!! Such as in The Tuxedo for example (which was also just a ridiculous movie). That's why I don't like Jet Li. Jet Li is nothing without his fake wire stunts. JC I always admired because there were no wires - just real stunts and real danger. When he started doing movies with wires, that's when I became less of a fan. But I still think JC is THE MAN. Comment: At least once, although after seeing it... once is never enough! So this is the action/martial arts hybrid movie that has set the gold standard for all the others to come. Many have tried to duplicate it and few have rarely even come close(even it's sequels pale in comparison). Jackie stars and directs masterfully pushing the limits of exciting camera work and of course action and stunts. There are plenty of scenes here worth mention but I think it's best to go in without any forewarning of what's to come. Dragon Dynasty has put out another great DVD(although the picture is a little grainy) with some fantastic bonus features. One of Jackie Chans finest moments, and in a career full of them, this is a can't miss.
