Customer Rating: Summary: A real Stinker! Comment: Don't waist your money on this one. Jamie Lee curtis is a big disapointment in this one. This was not her best acting and Tim Allen was just a bit better. You will be disapointed in getting this one. The book Skipping Christmas was much much better and much funnier. They should have gotten different actors for these two charactors. Just not believable. Dan Aykroyd did much better in his part.
Customer Rating: Summary: Typical holiday flick-too over the top Comment: Of course this genre is meant to inflect the sometimes "hustle and bustle" holiday season with laughter and humor, but this flick was a bit irritating. The premise was funny enough-a couple trying to spice things up, in the face of their daughter's absence during a trip to another country. But the film is monotonous and the script a bit campy.
All actors do a fine job with the material given, but aside from the scene where the cruise tickets are given to the elderly couple across the street, the film lacks the genuine sentiments of other holiday films (such as "The Holday" and others). This does not have a hgh rewatchability factor for me, and I typically like holiday films. Give it a "rent" if you like the type.
Customer Rating: Summary: Funny, Cute and sweet! Comment: I think any person can enjoy a Tim Allen movie.
A good family classic.
Check it out!
Customer Rating: Summary: Funny, funny movie! Comment: I loved the book Skipping Christmas by John Grisham and I don't know why they changed title for movie because I thought that great myself. The Kranks are alone this Christmas and decide to take off to a sunnier clime. It's hilarious watching them trying to squirm their way out of hanging decorations (their street is full of them and people can't believe they won't put them up like everyone else). They are kept busy trying to get their suntans started ahead of time and shopping for summer like clothes (while it is snowing outside). Then lo and behold the daughter decides to come home for Christmas after all and they have no decorations up and no Christmas tree and no food. There is a scramble by them and their neighbors to get everything in place before the daughter gets there. Loved the book, loved the movie!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great if you think Christmas is about bullying Comment: The movie is about a middle aged couple who decide to 'skip Christmas' and go on a cruise.
When their neighbours find out the couple is relentlessly bullied and harrassed.
It is disgusting, I hate seeing people being bullied.
The movie has a supposed 'happy' ending, because they give in to their neighbours' demands and the neightbours reward their submission with 'kindness' BLARG.
I would've enjoyed the ending immensly if it included scenes with a U-Haul truck because they were moving away from their hideous (and very nasy) neighbours.

When their only daughter Blair leaves the family nest, Luther and Nora Krank (Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis) decide to book an island cruise to beat the yuletide blues and just skip the holidays. But their decision to boycott tradition has the whole neighborhood in an uproar, and when Blair callson Christmas Eve to announce a surprise visit with her new fiancée, the Kranks have just twelve hours to perform a miracle and pull themselves and their neighbors together to throw the best celebration ever.
